Digital Media/Multimedia Production Certificate, C.C.C.

 

DIGITAL MEDIA/MULTIMEDIA Production certificate

The goal of this program is to prepare students for initial employment as a digital media/multimedia production technician, digital media/multimedia developer, or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these or related occupations.  Graduates of this certificate program could potentially obtain entry positions as graphic artist technician, animation/gaming/simulation technician, digital video production technician, or Web design technician. All courses in this program can be used in pursuit of the college’s Digital Media Associate of Science degree.

Through our project-based curriculum, you will have opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including many for real-world clients--helping to build your resume, your confidence, and your understanding of how the industry works. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job growth between 2014 and 2024 for  computer and information technology occupations will increase by 12% which was faster than average for all occupations. This certificate program is part of the Digital Media/Multimedia Technology AS degree program. This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and a career in video production.

WHAT CLASSES ARE REQUIRED FOR THE CERTIFICATE?

A majority of the classes that you will take in the certificate track at Gulf Coast State College will fulfill specialization requirements for your associate of science degree program and will transfer to the bachelor of applied sciences in Digital Media. A range of elective options supports individual educational and employment goals. Students who have completed the degree should have a strong portfolio, workplace skills and trans-media competency. 

Our program features a diverse degree plan and will give you broad, transferable skills for working in the digital and multimedia industry. You gain technical and production skills, planning, management, finance, principles of technology, labor and community issue.
