Education Encore provides non-credit enrichment classes for active adults. The goal is to provide a learning environment that is lively and full of enjoyment, diversity, insight, and wisdom. Come explore new ideas and meet new friends.
Who Is It For?
Education Encore is for adults, local and non-local (need not be a Florida resident).
And Why?
Education Encore is offered for learning, fun, fellowship, enrichment, challenges, meeting new friends, and developing new interests.
When Are the Classes Scheduled?
Two series of classes are offered every year at the Bay County and Gulf/Franklin County campuses of GCCC. One series is scheduled during part of GCCC's spring term (mid-January through February), and one is scheduled in the fall (normally the end of September through October).
What Time are the Classes Held? Panama City: Classes are held on six consecutive Fridays from 9:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (Central Time). Gulf/Franklin: Classes are held on six consecutive Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon (Eastern Time).
What Options are there for Lunch? (Panama City only)
The GCCC Commodore Cafe, located in the Student Union Building East building, serves a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and hot entrees at reasonable prices. Participants can also sample the variety of local restaurants within a short drive of the campus on highway 98 and 23rd Street.
What Is The Cost?
The fee is $80.00 for the six - week program at the Bay County campus, and $60.00 for the six-week program at the Gulf/Franklin campus. To ensure the viability of the total program, we do not charge on a per-class basis. Therefore, the fee is $80.00/$60.00, whether you attend one class or four. We trust you recognize that the fee is quite moderate.

A limited amount of need-based scholarships is available. For more information about the scholarship, call 872-3823.
What About Special Needs?
Participants who have a disability that may require special assistance are requested to contact the Office of Disabled Student Services (872-3834) at least one week prior to the start of classes.
