This is a four-hour firearms course for Retired Law Enforcement Officer. Students will learn about current laws pertaining to retire police officer firearms carry, best management practices for safe and responsible gun handling and ownership. The student is also required to pass a 40-round FDLE Qualification Course of fire before being issued an annual permit. (4 hours)

FACA – Animal Control Officer Certification Course Register!
This instructor led classroom course provides basic instruction in areas of concern to personnel whose duties include capture, control, keeping and disposing of domestic and wild animals. Instruction includes legal procedures, veterinary considerations, and domestic animal anatomy. Use of restraint and capture equipment; report writing procedures; driver’s awareness; human, public and violator relations and euthanasia considerations are among topics covered. This instructor led class will provide basic instruction in the proper use of the bite stick or “expandable baton.” Because of the ease of carry on the Animal Control Officer’s belt and the availability of this light weight defensive tool, the bite stick and assorted attachments, i.e., flashlight, beveled mirror, and entry tool, make the bite stick one the most tactically efficient officer safety / survival tool for use by Animal Control. Instruction will include the history of the expandable batons, officer survival, principles of control, tactical applications of the bite stick / expandable batons for animal control officers, and the Florida Administrative Code dealing with the use of “tools of opportunity” in the Animal Control Officer defending himself / herself against attacks by both animals and or humans. (5 hours)

This course is intended for public or private law enforcement officers with a minimum of three years experience. This school centers on the patrol rifle for officers using iron sights or optics. The classroom portion informs students how to teach basic fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and handling, how to zero iron-sighted rifles, and discusses zeroing policy and liability concerns. Range work quickly moves from basic marksmanship to tactical movement. Students design a tactical course of fire and are responsible for developing a lesson plan and running fellow students through their course at the end of the week.

The Tactical Shooting School is intended for experienced and certified firearm instructors. The basics of instructing, communication skills, use of training aids, construction of lesson plans, and other basic instructor classes are not included in this school. This school advances towards teaching the tactical use of the duty handgun, secondary handgun and long gun. Students MUST possess strong firearm handling skills. The program concentrates on advanced shooting skills, use of the “safety circle,” pivoting and turning to fire, unconventional shooting positions, two-man patrol tactics, use of the back-up handgun, use of the off-duty handgun, and decision-making under stress. During the course, students will design a tactical course of fire, develop a lesson plan and run fellow students through this course.

NRA Handgun / Shotgun Instructor Development INTERESTED?
This course is intended for experienced and certified firearms instructors. The program concentrates on advanced shooting skills with both the handgun and shotgun, use of the “safety circle” concept, pivoting and turning to fire, movement, unconventional shooting positions, two-man patrol tactics, use of the back-up handgun, use of the off-duty handgun, an extended reduced light training session and decision-making under stress. (45 hours)
