Pre-Meteorology (METR-AA) PROGRAM GOAL: The purpose of this program is to prepare students for a career in meteorology. A degree in meteorology is required for weather forecasting and modeling of weather phenomena on data analysis. Atmospheric research is a growing field for people with advanced degrees in meteorology. Job opportunities are available with the federal government, the military, and with private industries. The B.S. degree in Atmospheric Science and Meteorology is offered only at Florida State University.
