Temporary Disabilities
Some students may experience temporary disabling conditions that impair their ability to perform essential functions in a course. The most frequent types of temporary disabilities that require accommodations are injury to the hand that the student writes with and any injury that prevents a student from sitting or walking for long periods of time. Accommodations will depend on the nature and severity of the temporary disability. Although temporary disabilities are not covered under disability legislation, DSS assists students who need accommodations due to a temporary condition (i.e. notetakers, writers for exams). |
