Important Policy Change Affecting Your Financial Aid! Your Financial Aid is awarded based on your major. A new policy states that all changes to a student's major must be made before the end of the add/drop period to apply for the current semester. So, if you don't make sure your major is correct before the end of add/drop, you may not be eligible for Financial Aid that semester and may even owe money back. All courses you take should be part of that major.

Financial aid is any grant, scholarship, part-time employment or loan offered for the express purpose of helping students pay for education related expenses. Such aid is usually provided by federal, state, college, or private agencies. GCCC offers one or more of the various types of aid to students who apply and are found eligible.
Gulf Coast Community College Foundation You can apply for scholarships through our Foundation. They have part-time and full-time scholarships available. Apply early to be eligible.
Workforce Training Center The Workforce Training Center at GCCC is a state funded service provider offering educational training opportunities in A.S., Certificate, and Vocational careers that are high wage and high demand occupations.
Returning Students Program Academic and emotional support for single parents and displaced homemakers who enroll and meet certain criteria. Students qualifying may be eligible for tuition and book assistance based on funding availability.
Employment: Part-time jobs through the following programs require an overall 2.0 GPA. Students work 10-20 hours per week and earn minimum wage.
Federal Work Study (FWS) FWS is a federally funded, need based student work program. Indicate your interest in student employment on the FAFSA application. Applications and assignments are available in the Financial Aid Office or click here to e-mail questions.
