PROGRAM INFORMATION
In the Traditional Program one class of twenty-four students is selected each year. The DEAL Program selects twelve students per campus in the fall and spring terms with open enrollment in the summer. Students not selected are encouraged to enroll in general education courses while reapplying to the program in the following year. Students should receive advising and counseling regarding their status and recommended courses by the Dental Assisting faculty.
The Dental Assisting Program is a rigorous, full-time course of study that requires commitment, motivation and hard work. All dental courses require at least a grade of "C" for successful completion and continuation in the program. For a portion of their laboratory learning experience, it is necessary for students to practice on each other. If, for any medical, dental or personal reason a student is unable to participate, it will be the student's responsibility to provide a patient for each of those sessions.
