INTERESTED IN A CAREER AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT?

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a skilled technical health care worker who delivers physical therapy services under the supervision of the Physical Therapist (PT). PTAs carry out patient treatments designed by the PT which include training patients in activities of daily living; application of physical agents such as heat, cold, electricity and traction; gait training; therapeutic exercise; assisting in performing tests and treatments administered by the PT; and observing and reporting patient responses.

Opportunities are available in a variety of settings: hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitations centers, home health, etc.

Starting Salaries: $32,000.00 - $38,000.00 annually.
