POSITION TITLE:

ABE/GED Learning Manager

REPORTS TO:

Coordinator, Passport Program

BASIC FUNCTION:

To provide academic assessment and instruction to adults working to improve basic math, reading and writing skills and/or attain GEDs. The ABE/GED Learning Manager advises students regarding academic and career goals and develops, monitors and maintains individual learning plans for students.

CLASSIFICATION:

9-month, full-time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides academic assessment and online instruction to adults working to improve basic math, reading and writing skills and/or attain GEDs.

Advises students in developing academic and career goals and designs individual learning plans accordingly.

Monitors students' progress and maintains learning plans and other student records.

Carries out student retention and recruitment strategies.

Develops curriculum, materials and resources for student lessons and workshops.

Performs routine data entry and computer/database maintenance relative to tracking student progress.

Participates in special events and other program initiatives such as family literacy activities, technology workshops, 3-day fast track courses, and graduation ceremonies.

Participates in professional development activities and staff meetings.

All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in education (adult education, math, English or reading preferred).

SALARY:

$20k/yr
