POSITION TITLE:

Community Recruiter

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Coordinator, College Recruitment

BASIC FUNCTION:

To recruit members of the community, including non-traditional students, who have specific career and educational needs that can be met by the college. The expectations of this function include, but are not limited to working with these individuals in the admissions process, making appearances in the community to research the needs of employees, and utilize critical thinking skills that will garner and encourage new recruitment markets and strategies.

CLASSIFICATION:

12-month, Professional

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with businesses and industries that have people with specific training and develop ways for these individuals to attain a degree at GCSC

Attend local and community events such as The Business Expo, speaking at Civic Clubs, and other organizations.

Utilize a database and tracking system of those contacted to determine enrollment status and follow-up

Develop new ideas to meet the needs of constituents and encourage those individuals to attain a degree

Work with the Center for Continuing Education in the development of leads to meet personal and professional continuing educational needs of constituents.

Assist the primary recruiter in organizing high school and college-related events that cater to high school students in our service areas well as high school counselors.

Know the required information of all degree and certificate programs offered by the college and recommend new programs after researching the need.

Research company and industry tuition reimbursement programs to help employees in the financial aid process at GCSC

Work with primary recruiter so not to duplicate efforts

Knowledge of the admissions process in order to help prospective students in the initial advising and registration processes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree, MS Office & communication skills and able to work independently; 1-2 yrs recruiting experience preferred.

SALARY:

Starts at $23k/yr
