Using desktop publishing and image creation software designs and creates the majority of all printed pieces including, but not limited to: brochures, flyers, advertisements, posters, banners, promotional items, newsletters and other marketing collateral.
As appropriate, contracts with outside vendors/designers/printers; developing specifications, soliciting bids, composing and proofing copy, scheduling and monitoring production and delivery. Apply knowledge of pre-press process to ensure camera-ready art, color accuracy, and successful troubleshooting of print projects.
Writes, edits, and proofreads all copy for department promotions including printed materials, web pages, print advertising, catalog/handbook ads, catalog/handbook descriptions, professional and trade association articles, calendar announcements, email notices.
Writes press releases, feature articles and promotional pieces for publications.
Oversees posting of workshop flyers and posters campus-wide. Schedules the use of on campus televisions to most effectively publicize programs.
Coordinates all aspects of the events calendar and flyers from creation to production and distribution, both print and online versions.
Evaluates opportunities and creates submissions, as appropriate, for new and existing free and paid advertising opportunities, including calendar entries, publications, web site links or listings.
Responsible for digital photography, photo archives, and digital image processing for print and web use, including event documentation, publication photography, and public relations images. Complies with College privacy policies and maintains signed releases where appropriate.
Develops branded marketing campaigns for new and existing initiatives as needed, including comprehensive marketing plans, logos, taglines, branded print collateral, promotional items, and original marketing copy.
Coordinates all special event advertising, including advance publicity, invitations, signage, collateral, promotional materials, and follow-up communications. Special events include the SBDC Small Business Conference, job fairs, employer receptions, and themed career weeks.
Serve as Gulf Coast State College liaison and coordinator for the annual small business conference and other special events for the SBDC and Continuing Education.
Coordinate focus groups, roundtable discussions and advisory committees as a means of gathering information on workforce development needs.
Active participation in community events (Business Expos, Tourism expos, Chamber events, etc.) to raise awareness of Continuing Education programs.
Meet the training needs of SBDC clients and district workforce by researching related/requested courses, including computer and technical training.
Monitor enrollment; evaluate practices and program for revisions and improvements; troubleshoot and resolve operational problems both on and off campus.
Collaborate with necessary departments to provide assistance with conferences, training, and other special events. (Examples: Media Services, Community and Public Relations, Computer Services, Food Services, Facilities Management)
Participate in Small Business Development Center, Gulf Coast State College, and community meetings as a means to gain valuable information regarding the needs of the community and to share and exchange ideas with colleagues.
Research and implement new initiatives as needed, and provide support to other Continuing Education coordinators as requested.
Complete and submit reports as required by supervisor(s).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Provide direction to support staff. Respond to students inquires, provide guidance regarding open enrollment classes, manage databases for internal/professional groups, provide course offering, submit grades, and maintain records in keeping with college policies and procedures.
Participate in local and state committees and boards, as needed.
Engage in professional development activities.
Participate in college and community relations/volunteer work, as needed.
