Course Description:
- STA2122: Statistical applications in social science I, 4 hours lecture, and 4 credits.
- Prerequisite: Math placement or minimum grade of “C” in MAC-1105.
- An introductory course which includes: probability distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence interval
estimation, correlation, analysis of variance, and regression.
- TEXT: Intro Stats, DeVeaux and Velleman, 2nd edition, 2006, Addison Wesley Longman Publishing Company.
- OTHER MATERIALS: A calculator (TI-83, TI-84 etc.) can be used in the course. Students will be
expected to use computers and appropriate software, such as Activstats, excel, spss, minitab where available for the completion of
projects.
