In partnership with the Tyndall Aero Club at Tyndall Air Force Base, GCCC’s Center for Business, Continuing and Community Education (CBCCE) has developed a unique new course, the Private Pilot Ground School. This flight training program is available to:
Active duty personnel and dependents
- Retirees and dependents
- Department of Defense/NAF employees and dependents
- Reservists and dependents
- Civil Air Patrol members

Pilot Ground School classes will be offered on a quarterly basis at the Tyndall Aero Club.
The next class is scheduled to begin July 8, 2009 through September 2, 2009, and will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 – 9 p.m.
The course fee is $595.00 which includes a flight bag, books, and 50 hours of classroom instruction. Active duty military are eligible for reimbursement through tuition assistance.
The course is divided up into three stages each consisting of 5-6 classes. Prior to starting Stage I, the student has to successfully complete the Ground Training Standards by passing the private pilot airmen knowledge test. Each stage has a final written exam with a required minimum passing score of 80%.
