To apply for the $4,000 MyCAA financial assistance and enroll at GCSC, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Set up a profile on MyCAA.

  2. Review and digitally sign (by entering your username and password) the MyCAA online Statement of Understanding (SOU) Terms and Conditions.

  3. Download the Career Advancement Account (CAA) application process form.

  4. Call a Military One Source Career/Education Consultant at 800-342-9647 to begin working on career goals and career plan.

  5. Use the "School Search" function under the "Resources" tab; you can search by Gulf Coast State College or State of Florida.

  6. Complete the GCSC Application for Admission.

    You can apply online. Visit Online Admissions for full instructions.

    *To establish residency, send your spouses Duty History or Orders that brought you to Florida to the address below.

  7. Request official transcripts from high school and previous college(s), if any, or
    provide documentation of GED. Our Admissions office will NOT accept hand delivered transcripts.

    Request that your former institutions send your official transcripts to:

  8. Take the College Placement Test.

    On Tuesdays, tes is available at 1:00pm on TAFB. (Pre-registration & payment required)
    The fee is $5.00 and may be paid in the Business Office or the Bookstore.

    You can arrange to take this online. Contact Kara Hillard at khillard@gulfcoast.edu to schedule an online Placement Test session.

  10. Schedule classes, register and course information.
    Select the courses you would like to enroll in
    Determine if you are eligible to register online
    Register online or at any GCSC office

  11. Pay any fees.
    Financial assistance is paid directly to schools and other payees registered in the AI portal.  
    Submit approved MyCAA document DDForm X583.
    The deadline for fee payment is listed in the College Calendar linked on the far left.
    Fees may be paid:
    To Pay Online: Visit https://cpnta.gulfcoast.edu/csrs/ for full instructions.
    (You must be registered and have an OASIS Pin number from the GCSC Admissions Office before you can pay online).

    By calling (850) 769-1551, ext. 3879 using Master Card or VISA.

    OR ON LOCATION:
    At the GCSC Business Office located in the Administration Building,
    At the Bookstore when you purchase your books,
    At the Gulf/Franklin Center

  12. Buy books.
    You may: Visit the GCSC Bookstore Web Site,
    OR
    Complete a Book Request Form at the book store.
    Call the GCSC Bookstore, (850) 759-1551, ext. 3585, and purchase using Master Card or Visa (shipping/handling charges will be assessed).
    Books may be purchased at Tyndall Air Force Base during specified times for classes taught at that location.
     

  13. IF YOUR COURSE USES the COLLEGE'S COURSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM called ANGEL

    Log in to Angel.
    Go to http://angel.gulfcoast.edu. Your username and password will follow this format:
    Username: Lastname.Firstname
    Password: Your date of birth (yyyymmdd) as listed in Student Records with no dashes or spaces between the numbers.
    EXAMPLE: If your name is John Smith, and you were born on July 2nd, 1985 your username would be smith.john, and your password would be 19850702
    You will be required to change your password the first time you log in.

  14. Start class!
