Criminal Justice Training Center Number 11 opened in 1969 with the inception of certification for criminal justice practitioners through the Florida Department of Law enforcement Division of Standards and Training. The first classes were held in Apalachicola and the Academy has grown steadily since. Classes are held primarily at the North Bay Center and at the Gulf/Franklin Center.
Gulf Coast Community College took responsibility for the Firefighter Certification program in 1996. Practical training is held at the North Bay Center. Classes are held at numerous locations within our tri-county area and several advanced fire training classes are presented through e-learning.
