A native of northwest Florida, Mr. Ammons is a former federal security officer, public safety communications officer, corporate security director, law enforcement policy analyst and deputy sheriff.

TEACHING COMPETENCIES 

Criminology & Criminal Justice, Public Administration & Policy Analysis, Educational Foundations (Philosophical & Psychological), Educational Research, Instructional Design & Technology, Criminal Justice & Educational Research Methods, and specialized instructor certifications granted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

OTHER INFORMATION

Mr. Ammons is a Endowed Life Member of the National Rifle Association.  Personal interests include Celtic history and culture, heraldry, genealogy, chivalry, and military history.  He is a member of the Board of Governors and a Fellow of the American College of Heraldry, where he also serves as secretary.  He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, as well as a member of several other hereditary and patriotic organizations.  He is a Knight of the Royal Brotherhood of Saint Michael of the Wing (Portugal), a  Knight of the Imperial Order of the Star of Honour (Ethiopia), a Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Mary Magdalene at the Holy Sepulchre (Italy), a Knight Commander of the Order of The Most Holy Cross of Saint Constantine the Great (Italy), and a Knight of the Order of the Holy Trinity (Italy).
