WHAT IS THE SUCCESS CENTER?

The Success Center is a learning center which provides academic support for Gulf Coast State College students. Degreed math and English teachers, along with tutors, assist students in improving math, writing, reading, and grammar skills. In addition to working side by side with instructors, students also have access to worksheets, videos and CD Rom materials. The Success Center is located in Student Union West next to the Bookstore. There is no charge to GCSC students for using the Success Center.

Math Resources:

The Success Center employs three full-time and one part-time mathematics instructors. All instructors have mathematics degrees in addition to teaching experience. Volunteers and student tutors are also available to help students. The Success Center provides mathematics tutoring in MAT0018, MAT0028.

English Resources:

The Success Center employs two full-time Language Arts instructors to assist students enrolled in ENC0015, ENC0025, REA0007, and REA0017. Students in ENC0015 are scheduled for fifty-minute labs each week to work on assignments, review grammar and writing areas that need strengthening, or study for tests. Handouts and Internet sources offer a variety of study aids.

Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm                   
Sunday: 1:00 pm – 5:00
