College Credit and Vocational Credit
In determining academic progress, college credit, vocational credit, and preparatory credit are combined. "Attempted" is defined as all courses in which a student has processed an official registration and in which a student remains enrolled after the drop/add period. Transfer courses, courses taken for audit, and courses for which a student receives a refund will not be included in the determination of academic standing.
Academic Probation - A student will be placed on academic probation if any one of the following conditions is present:
- 13 - 35 credit hours attempted and cumulative grade point average below 1.50.
- 36 - 45 credit hours attempted and cumulative grade point average below 1.75.
- 46 or more credit hours attempted and cumulative grade point average below 2.00.
- 18 - 36 credit hours attempted and less than 50% completion rate. (Students on financial aid must have a 67% completion rate.)
Academic Suspension - A student will be placed on academic suspension if any one of the following conditions is present:
- 36 - 45 credit hours attempted and grade point average below 1.50.
- 46 or more hours attempted and grade point average below 1.75.
- 37 or more credit hours attempted and less than 50% completion rate. (Students on financial aid must have a 67% completion rate.)
Suspension Waiver - A student may appeal an academic suspension by filing an appeals form with the Standards of Progress committee. Through the appeals procedures, the committee will establish reenrollment conditions and monitor the student's academic progress. After due process, if the student is not able to remain in good standing with the college, the committee will ask the student to not enroll for one full term.
