What is Advising?

Students who wish to enroll in courses must see an academic adviser to receive permission to take a course.  Gulf Coast has a faculty advising system that allows students to establish a rapport with an adviser upon entering the college.  It is strongly recommended that a student seek the advice of the same adviser though out his or her years at GCCC.  Primary advisers for each program of study are listed with each program description in the college catalog.
