The CPT is given during the times listed below on a walk-in basis. You do not need to register for this test. A fee of $5.00 is required and must be paid prior to taking the test. The fee is paid at the bookstore or business office. Bring your paid receipt and photo identification to Room 129 in the Admission and Records building. Although the test is not timed, allow yourself at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete all portions of the test. The test consists of a mathematics portion, a reading portion, and an English grammar portion. Calculators are not allowed; pencils and scrap paper are provided. The placement test can be taken twice a semester and the scores are valid for two years. An application for admission to the college must be turned in to the Office of Admissions and Records before taking the test. High school students testing for the Dual Enrollment program are the exception and do not have to have an application on file, but do need to bring the permission letter from their high school. The following counties are premitted to test for Dual Enrollment purposes: Bay, Gulf, and Franklin. If you require or would like to request special testing accommodations you can email Kara Hillard at khillard@gulfcoast.edu
The times listed are when a student may BEGIN the test. For example, 8:00 - 12:00 pm means that a student must begin the test between 8 in the morning and 12 in the afternoon.
