Are you a working adult and your life responsibilities have kept you from enrolling in college courses?
Why not try Weekend College at Gulf Coast Community College?
The new Weekend College is a program that incorporates the materials and concepts of a traditional college-level course in new ways. Half of the course is delivered online and the other half is delivered face-to-face in a traditional classroom setting. Most classes meet 4 or 5 times on nonconsecutive weekends of the course of the 16-week semester . Check out the current Weekend College Schedule!
Weekend College is not an accelerated program. It is instead a complete college experience, based on a traditional curriculum whose content has been refashioned to fit the needs and schedules of today's working adults. This unique program design enables working adults to perform comfortably and successfully as students and meet their family and personal obligations at the same time.
Weekend College students attend small classes that allow for personalized instruction from GCCC’s outstanding faculty, they are stimulated by classmates who share their own degree of enthusiasm and their own level of life and work experience. During the two or three weeks before their next instructional weekend, they have the freedom to organize their own time, career and family responsibilities. In this period they accomplish their college projects and assignments in order to extend and consolidate their learning.
How do our classes differ from E-Learning courses? Our students will also receive quality instruction but they will have the opportunity to meet with their instructors and fellow classmates during the semester; this synergy will allow for the seamless sharing of ideas and concepts. The weekend sessions will let students know that they are not in it alone!
