Drafting & Design Technology


The need for drafters/designers in either architecture or industrial mechanical occupations remains strong and we expect that this employment demand will persist well into the future.

The primary goal of this program is to prepare students for employment, but many students elect to transfer to schools of architecture or engineering technology after completing the general education requirements of an A.A. degree

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for careers as drafters/designers in either architecture or industrial mechanical occupations.

The program features the use of both board drawing and computer assisted drafting featuring the latest release of AutoCAD along with Revit for Architecture and Inventor for Mechanical. All advanced design classes use the computer to produce the designs and working drawings.

The primary goal of the program is to prepare students for employment after graduation, but many students elect to transfer to schools of architecture or engineering technology after completing the general education requirements of an A.A. degree.
