John F. Moseley Scholarship

General Information for 2023-2024 Academic Year:  

Application Deadline is  Wednesday,  March 15, 2023

The Social Sciences Division invites you to apply for the John F. Moseley Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic school year.  The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and financial need.

Mr. John Moseley was a long-time professor of history and sociology at Gulf Coast State College.  He truly loved students and sought to help them fulfill their dreams.  Upon his death, his faculty, family and friends established this scholarship in his memory.

All recipients must have a completed general scholarship application on file with the GCSC foundation.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must attend Gulf Coast State College full-time (12 hours per semester) during the year for which the scholarship is awarded.  Qualified applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.  First priority will be given to students majoring in Social Science (2nd year students).  All other applicants must be in one of the programs that Social Sciences offers.  Those programs are:

Anthropology

Archaeology

Education

History

Philosophy

Political Science

Psychology

Religion

Social Studies

Social Work

Sociology

Charles Bond Scholarship

General Information for 2023-2024 Academic Year: 

Application Deadline is  Wednesday,  March 15, 2023

The Social Sciences Division invites you to apply for the Charles Bond Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic school year.  The scholarship is awarded based on financial need, and a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Mr. Charles (Charlie) Bond was a librarian and part-time instructor in history at Gulf Coast State College.  He loved teaching and devoted a great deal of his time helping students to find themselves and fulfill their dreams.   Upon his death, this scholarship was founded by his widow, Mary Catherine Bond, and a colleague, to honor his memory.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must attend Gulf Coast State College full time (12 hours per semester) during the year for which the scholarship is awarded.  Qualified applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.  Students majoring in a Social Science degree program will be given priority. 

All recipients must have a completed general scholarship application on file with the GCSC foundation.

Joseph and Dorothy Francis Endowed Scholarship

General information for 2023-2024 Academic Year: 

Application Deadline is Wednesday, March 15, 2023

The Social Sciences Division invites all Education majors to apply for the Joseph and Dorothy Francis Endowed Scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic school year.  There are two opportunities available for students majoring in Education. The scholarship is awarded based on financial need, and a minimum GPA of 2.5. 

All recipients must have a completed general scholarship application on file with the GCSC foundation.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must attend Gulf Coast State College full-time (12 hours per semester) during the year for which the scholarship is awarded.  Qualified applicants must be majoring in education, and must have earned 30 or more credit hours (2nd year students).   Two students will be selected for this scholarship.
