WOULD you like a career in legal assisting or paralegal?
If you have an interest in the law and enjoy research, working with a team, and helping people, then the two-year Legal Assisting/Paralegal A.S. program is for you. This program will prepare you for an entry-level position to work in a multitude of office environments, such as law firms, government agencies, financial institutions, corporations, law courts, insurance agencies, banks, department stores, credit departments, real estate offices, and health care facilities.
Gulf Coast State College offers the necessary courses to help you develop the skills employers are looking for in today's legal offices. You will learn to conduct legal and factual research; interview clients and witnesses; review and organize case material for settlement negotiations or trial; draft legal documents and forms; summarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimony; and function as a member of a legal team.
