Do the world's oceans fascinate you?
If you like the beach, the ocean and marine life, our professors at Gulf Coast State College can prepare you for a career in oceanography. Oceanographers are exploring the world oceans looking for resources and consulting with industry, business and governmental leaders on environmental and engineering problems, as well as researching new and innovative scientific technology to develop a modern understanding of the world’s oceans. As an oceanographer, you will also study the motion of the ocean and how it affects coastal climate and weather.
For a career in oceanography, you will start by earning your Oceanography Option, Liberal Arts A.A. degree at Gulf Coast. Our professors are here to help you build a solid foundation that will prepare you to continue your studies in oceanography at a four-year institution. We offer the necessary prerequisites for the state of Florida university baccalaureate programs.
