Practical Nursing Program

This program is a one-year vocational program offered at the Gulf/Franklin Campus in Port St. Joe, Florida. Successful completion allows the graduate to sit for the national exam to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). One class of 36 students is admitted each year in the fall semester. The application deadline is the last working day of June each year and class begins in August. The practical nursing curriculum includes 45 vocational credit hours to include math, human structure & function, pharmacology, medical terminology, and nursing courses. Instruction occurs in classroom, campus lab, and clinical facilities. Advanced standing may be awarded to students who are Certified Nurses Aides who successfully meet specified criteria.

Effective January 2019, the Practical Nursing program  has been placed on probation by FBON  for failure to maintain the required certification  exam pass rate.  Please refer questions to the program coordinator.
