EMT Refresher online Course
The EMT-refresher online course fulfills the mandatory 30-hour refresher component and meets the requirements for EMTs set forth by the state of Florida. Students enrolled in this class will receive updated training on all necessary emergency medical care skills including adult and pediatric education with a minimum of two hours in pediatric emergencies.
Every two years, EMTs must provide the certifying authority with proof of 30 hours of an approved refresher course or 30 hours of EMS approved continuing education units (CEUs). This course is offered as an open entry, open exit format providing a flexible schedule for all EMTs.
On October 7, 2018, Governor Rick Scott issued an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency in Florida, for Hurricane Michael.
The Florida Department of Health, in accordance with Executive Order number 18-276 and Executive Order number 18-277 has therefore extended license expiration deadlines for EMT/Paramedics (December 1). The new licensure expiration date is midnight on March 31, 2019. Unless another extension is granted, any active license not renewed before this time will go into a delinquent status. You may register at any time during the semester. After March 31st, you will have 60 days to complete the course from the date you receive access and training will be applied to the next biennium.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR the EMT refresher COURSE?
To register for the EMT Refresher Online Course, complete the online registration form. In-person registration can be done through Corporate College, located on the 2nd floor in the McSpadden Student Union East building.
