GCSC hosts “An Evening of Showtunes” fundraiser
Panama City, FL – Gulf Coast State College’s Visual & Performing Arts Division is dedicating “An Evening of Showtunes” to support the Ray H. Stanley Memorial Musical Theatre Scholarship Fund. The performance will be held Friday, November 17, from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. in the Amelia Center Theatre.
“We are doing this as a way of keeping Ray’s memory alive by helping future students who share his passion,” said Jason Hedden, Visual & Performing Arts Chair. Ray Stanley was a theatre major at Gulf Coast and one of the founders of the student theatre organization called GCSC Players. Ray was active in the local theatre community as an actor and director, and most recently appeared on stage in the College’s productions of “RENT” and “Tartuffe.”
The performers are current and former GCSC students as well as local musical theatre performers in the community. Tickets are $20 at the door or online, and advance tickets are available at www.gulfcoast.edu/arts. Because this is a fundraising event, GCSC and FSU PC IDs are not valid for free admission.
