Out-Of-State Tuition Waived for all Active Duty Military
Gulf Coast State College has been a military-friendly college for many years, and thanks to a new Florida law, GCSC is more accessible than ever to those who serve. The new law, HB 799, went into effect July 1, 2016, and allows active duty service members the lower in-state rate for tuition and fees, no matter where they are from or where they are deployed.
The change is welcome and makes a significant difference for many of our students. “Out-of-state tuition waivers are a huge benefit for Gulf Coast State College’s active duty students,” said Dr. Suzanne Remedies, Director of Military and Veteran Services. “Now they won’t have to worry about additional financial burdens and can continue to reach their educational goals, regardless of where they are stationed or reside.”

Active duty service members, veterans and their dependents are also welcome to visit the Military & Veterans Service Center, located in Student Union East, or the College’s Education Center, located inside the Education Building at Tyndall Air Force Base.
