Unmanned vehicle systems
Gulf Coast State College is excited to announce the launch of the new Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UVS) Associate in Science program option that will begin fall 2016. Current trends show that job growth in Northwest Florida tied to the UVS industry is estimated to increase by 19,000 jobs within the next decade. GCSC is tapping into the industry in the earlier stages and has partnered with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to develop and implement the program. Students can explore the hundreds of different uses ranging from commercial to government uses of this technology.

Students will receive hands-on instruction from industry professionals in small classes and will learn about deploying various types of vehicles while utilizing their unique capabilities. This will provide a complete understanding of how to operate unmanned vehicles safely and ethically, and how their sensors capture, manage and visualize data, such as GIS mapping and geospatial analysis.
