Bio
Originally from Indiana, I have been a nurse since we pushed our cars with our feet.
My work experience includes mother-baby care, pediatrics, phase I pharmaceutical
research, epidemiology, elementary school nurse, and float pool for a Bay County hospital.
My first job at Gulf Coast State College was in the ADN program as the Simulation
Lab Coordinator/Remediator. I worked with all four semesters of students and enjoyed
the challenge of trouble-shooting problematic areas with students to increase success.
The creativity of simulation is where I excelled and my goal was to increase the
use of simulation in the ADN program.
I joined the RN-BSN program in January 2015. I find the subjects in the courses interesting
and vital for professional nurses ready to take a career to the next level.
When not at the college I coach Special Olympic athletes. I am currently a certified
coach for Swimming, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and Surfing. Because it takes a village
I also coach basketball, bowling, softball and track as needed. If the waves are
right you might see me on a board instead of in my office!
