Position Title:  Head Women's Volleyball Coach 

Reports To:

 Athletic Director 

Basic Function:

This job description is a general description of the essential job functions. All employees of Gulf Coast State College are expected to perform duties as assigned by Gulf Coast State College supervisory/management personnel, regardless of job title or routine job duties. The primary functions of this position are to exercise the general responsibility for the Women's Volleyball program under the supervision of the Athletic Director, Wellness & Athletics. Secondary duties may be assigned as requested by the Athletic Director. 


 Administrative Staff, Head Coach


 • Provide leadership for the volleyball program
• Obtain knowledge of current NJ CAA, FCSAA, and Conference rules and regulations regarding all areas of compliance.
• Develop and manage a recruiting plan.
• Plan, supervise, and conduct practices appropriately to prepare for competition.
• Schedule all games and travel plans for the team.
• Coordinate all aspects of game day event operations.
• Assist with academic advising of student athletes.
• Monitor academic progress and eligibility status for all members of the team.
• Monitor athletes on housing scholarship
• Manage the budget for all aspects of the team.
• Assist in a variety of fundraising activities for the sport and the department.
• Maintain respective facilities and inventory of equipment.
• Request maintenance and repairs as required.
• Coordinate communication with web manager as well as local media awareness.
• Participate in campus and community service projects.
• Organize and administer youth sports camps and clinics.
• Attend all related meetings as required.

Maintain appropriate office hours
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, and five years of coaching experience required, with head coaching experience preferred. 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to work flexible hours and regular attendance at work are essential functions of this position. The ability to travel locally and out of town on college related business is required. 

Supervises part-time assistant coaches. (One to three assistant coaches) depending on availability and funds available.
First aid/CPR and other related certifications preferred. These skills can be learned once employed.

*Degrees must be from a Regionally Accredited Institution to qualify for position.
