Position Title:  Program Developer, Public Safety

Reports To:

 Director, Corporate College

Basic Function:

This position will serve as the liaison between the college and business and industry as an access point for employer related services and programs including, but not limited to, contracted training and services, funding, facility rental, employer services, workforce development and advisory groups. Responsible for identifying prospective clients, needs assessments, proposals, closing sales and monitoring sales through process.




  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Call on business, industry and agencies to promote GCSC Corporate College services.
  • Conduct needs analysis, write proposals, and serve as an access point for employer related services and programs.
  • Maintain program volume and margins by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, and economic indicators. Utilize tools, formulas, benchmarks to evaluate and meet or exceed division wide goals for the sales of training programs and services.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to create public safety training programs and services.
  • Collaborate with college departments to provide training opportunities aligned with academic workforce agenda.
  • Become familiar with other industry service providers, professional organizations and local development groups. Create cooperative partnerships.
  • Monitor training and services provided by various campus (media services, ITS, food service, facilities management, etc.)
  • Provide direction to support staff, respond to customer inquiries, provide guidance regarding open enrollment courses, assist adjunct instructors i.e. provide course offering, rosters, and certificates and submit grades.
  • Serve on GCSC committees that support the mission of the college and/or aspects of the related programs. Serve on local and state committees and boards.
  • Seek professional development opportunities. Expand community relations/volunteer work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited educational institution in related area and four (4) years of experience in developing, scheduling and implementing projects and programs.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to be flexible in scheduling work hours including coverage demands due to training periods and equipment problems is required. The ability to work flexible hours and regular attendance at work are essential functions of this position. The ability to travel locally and out of town on college related business and training is required.

Sales experience in related field preferred. Public Safety background preferred. Ability to be approved by the Public Safety Division as Corporate College representative. Must be in possession of a current Florida driver's license.

Hiring, orienting, and retaining corporate college adjunct instructors. Delegating tasks to support staff. Providing guidance to meet continuing education requirements for business and regulated professions.

*Degrees must be from a Regionally Accredited Institution to qualify for position.

Starting Salary:

$46,184 (commensurate with experience)
