First Aid/CPR/AED Training for Kids  Register
Heartsaver First Aid course is an interactive and skills-based training. Students are taught critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking, or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies. In addition, this course teaches CPR and AED use. Dress comfortably and in layers. This is a hands-on course.
*Textbook is required and available at GCSC bookstore.

Saturday Ceramics  Register
Visiting artist, Meghan Sullivan, will guide students on a 5 week course discovering basic concepts of ceramic design to include process of forming, hand-building, decorating, glazing, and firing pottery.

Lego Mindstorm Robotics  Register
Young engineers will work to build and program robots using Lego Mindstorm NXT Robotics. Students will learn basic building and programming techniques as they work cooperatively to complete tasks, work through courses, and other robotic activities. STEM instructor, Maggie Odom, will guide you through this self-paced class.

Science Project Perfection  Register
It is Science fair time and research shows that a science fair project is one of the best learning experiences a student can undertake. However, students in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 also understand that this can be one of the most daunting tasks a student can undertake! Let us help ease the pain of completing the perfect project and join us as experienced science teacher, Maggie Wentworth, helps you understand the process for science fair projects as well as tips and tricks to fully develop your question, improve your research, and more. This class is designed for serious students of science and will not be one-on-one assistance with individual projects.

Coding for Kids  Register
In honor of Computer Science Education Week and a continuation of the Hour of Code movement, join instructor Tiff Brown for three hours of coding fun. Computer science is the art of blending human ideas and digital tools to increase our power. Computer scientists work in so many different areas: writing apps for phones, curing diseases, creating animated movies, working on social media, building robots, and much more! Let’s get excited about computer science!
