Kids' College Fall 2015
Green Screen Cinema
Want to dance on the moon, file a news report from the dessert, or act out a scene where dinosaurs are chasing you? You need a technology called green screen to make it all look real. This class involves students in the whole film process from story board to editing and directing. Students will need to bring a jump drive and headphones.
7-10 year olds

Kid’s College CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
The Heartsaver First Aid course is interactive and skills-based training. The student is taught critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking, or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. In addition, this course teaches CPR and AED use. Dress comfortably and in layers. This is a hands-on course. Textbook is
required and available for purchase at GCSC bookstore. PLEASE make plans to purchase prior to the day of class as the bookstore is CLOSED on Saturdays. In addition, students will need to BRING a packed lunch for a short lunch break during the day.
10-15 year olds

Claymation Movie Magic
Claymation has been used in films and television shows for years and this is your chance to create a bit of that same cinematic magic of your own! Students will put their imagination to work developing a story and then visualizing their idea through clay modeling and photography. By the end of the day, they will have created their own digital Claymation film to share with friends and family! Students will need to BRING a packed lunch for a short lunch break during the day as well as a camera or other video device along with all cords/cables and headphones.
11-15 year olds

Robotics Meeting of the Minds
This is a free flow class offering students ages 7-14 to work together and collaborate on various projects utilizing Lego Mindstorm Robots. Students will synergize to design, build, and program the bots to complete multiple tasks.
