WHAT CAN I DO WITH A DEGREE IN SOCIOLOGY?

There are many important benefits to receiving your degree in sociology.  One of the most attractive aspects of being a sociologist is the chance to influence efforts to solve social problems.  Sociologists that work in research and development jobs related to the social sciences, or in higher education, spend much of their time analyzing research data and writing reports.  This requires the employee to be disciplined, detail oriented, and possess the ability to work independently with little supervision - a skill that appeals to many employers, both in the private and public sectors.  Research work is an intellectually stimulating endeavor that often leads to new insights and knowledge.
