WHAT IS DUAL ENROLLMENT?
The Dual Enrollment Program allows high school students to earn college credit while at the same time earning credits toward their high school diploma. Dual enrolled students have access to rigorous postsecondary courses while reducing the time and cost of completing a college certificate or degree.
Dual enrollment is authorized by Florida Statute 1007.271
AM I ELIGIBLE FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT?
A secondary student must have qualifying college placement scores, meet course prerequisites, have written permission from the high school and a unweighted high school GPA of 3.0.
WHEN ARE DUAL ENROLLMENT CLASSES OFFERED?
You can take dual enrollment classes during school hours, after school hours, and during the summer term. (Courses are offered at the high school and on campus.)
ARE CERTAIN COURSES OFF-LIMITS?
- College preparatory courses
- Orientation courses
- Physical education courses
WHAT DOES DUAL ENROLLMENT COST?
Students in dual enrollment classes do not pay registration, matriculation, or lab fees. Your high school provides textbooks and instructional materials.
HOW ARE GRADES RECORDED?
Dual enrollment grades are recorded on both college and high school transcripts.
