WKGC 90.7 FM-HD1-“Here When You Need Us”

WKGC 90.7 FM HDWKGC is a 24-hour radio station, which has been serving the Panama City DMA (Designated Market Area) since 1975. This coverage area includes Bay and surrounding counties in Northwest Florida. WKGC broadcasts their 100,000-Watt signal from a 420’ tower on Gulf Coast State College’s North Bay Campus in Southport, FL. The station plays a fundamental role in communications for the Bay County Emergency Operations Center, which went into full activation mode during Hurricane Michael in October of 2018. Additionally, WKGC is the designated Florida Public Radio Emergency Network radio station for Bay, Gulf and Franklin Counties. The station is an affiliate of NPR (National Public Radio), delivering breaking national and world news, along with top stories from business, politics, health care, technology, music, science, arts & culture. In addition, WKGC was the first station in our market to embrace HD (Hybrid Digital) technology, launching the first HD radio station in the market in 2009.

WKGC 90.7 FM-HD2 “Jazz ‘Til Tomorrow”

Jazz ‘Til Tomorrow is the Jazz fan’s best companion in the area. Explore the HD band and enjoy a relaxing mix of contemporary and traditional jazz selections around the clock, hosted by nationally recognized jazz aficionados. WKGC-HD2 is proud to retain a local partnership with the Gulf Jazz Society, providing simulcasts of local live music events. Kick back and try out Jazz ‘Til Tomorrow.

WKGC 90.7 FM-HD3 “The AlterNation”

The AlterNation, WKGC’s student radio station is staffed by students in the Digital Media Program. The AlterNation gives students the experience and resume builder they need to jumpstart a career in broadcasting, digital media, communications, marketing and other related fields. What's on the Air?

In addition to NPR news, the WKGC listener is treated to a fantastic variety of specialty music formats and talk programming. Hear music you will only find on WKGC like Traditional & Contemporary Jazz, Big Band, Smooth Jazz, Blues, Oldies/Golden Greats, Classical, Soul, Classic R &B and beyond. Each weekday morning, WKGC’s “The Mix” show interviews local guests about topics affecting the Florida Panhandle and beyond. Much of our national jazz programming is provided by the AARC (African American Radio Consortium). Other NPR affiliates across the nation provide diverse weekend programs like Mountain Stage (West Virginia Public Broadcasting), Only a Game (WBUR Boston), and Latino USA (Futuro Media Group).
