American Literature through the Civil War

(Offered fall, spring, and summer). Prerequisite: ENC1102 with minimum grade of "C." (Meets Literature Humanities requirement). Major writers, literary movements, forms, and themes of American literature from discovery of the New World to the end of the Civil War. This course is a Gordon Rule writing course in which students will produce extensive college-level writing and which requires completion with a minimum grade of "C."
