Practical Nursing

This program is a one-year vocational program offered at the Gulf/Franklin Campus in Port St. Joe, Florida. Successful completion allows the graduate to sit for the national exam to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Two classes of students are admitted each year - one in the fall semester and one in the spring semester. The application deadlines are the last working day of June and October each year and classes begin in August and January. The practical nursing curriculum includes 45 vocational credit hours to include math, human structure & function, pharmacology, medical terminology, and nursing courses. Instruction occurs in classroom, campus lab, and clinical facilities. Advanced standing may be awarded to students who are Certified Nurses Aides who successfully meet specified criteria.
