Continuing Education at Gulf Coast State College provides several courses focusing on short-term, in-demand workforce/career and technical education credentialing and certificate programs. As part of the Department of Education’s Rapid Credentialing Economic Recovery & Prosperity Initiative, these courses are being offered at a drastically reduced rate. Healthcare certification courses
Clinical Medical Assistant - Online W/Externship
Provides you with the knowledge and training to work as a medical assistant, one of
the top 20 healthcare support jobs in the U.S., in both clinical and administrative
settings. The clinical externship will give you the experience and confidence you
need to be successful. Learners who complete the program will be given a voucher to
take the CCMA certification exam offered through the National Healthcareer Association.

Medical Coding and Billing - Online
Prepares you for the growing field of healthcare reimbursement—employment is expected
to grow by 13% by 2026—by teaching you the skills you need to earn industry credentials
and start a rewarding career as a medical coder. Learners who complete the program
will be given a voucher to take the CCA exam offered through the American Health Information
Management Association or the CPC exam offered through the American Academy of Professional
Coders. Certification included.

Patient Care Technician - Online W/Externship
Provides you with the knowledge and training to work as a patient care technician,
assisting doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals with the care of sick and
injured patients. The coursework will leave you fully prepared to take one of three
national certification exams, Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A)
from the NHA, NCPCT (Patient Care Technician), from the NCCT, or the AMCA’s Patient
Care Technician certification Certification included.

Pharmacy Technician - Online
Helps you develop the pharmacy and customer service skills you need to pursue one of nearly 47,000 new jobs expected in this field by 2026. The included externship will give you the experience to be successful from day one. Learners who complete the program will be given a voucher to take the PTCE offered through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.

Manufacturing Certification courses
HAAS Mill Operator Prep Course
This Prep course is designed to provide basic knowledge to get started as a CNC Machine Operator. It will provide a basic introduction into CNC machine operation, blueprint reading, and measuring tools. This course consists of an online portion and hands-on experience using Haas VF2 mill as well as CNC routers. At the completion of this course, the student will be prepared to take the hands-on test from the Haas Factory Outlet personnel. A voucher for the HAAS certification is included ($150 Value).
