Computer Basics 101  Register!

This class will assist students in feeling comfortable with using a computer. Students will be introduced to the basic steps of using a computer from starting, opening programs, establishing settings, and personalizing the desktop. Students will learn how to navigate programs and save documents on various drives. They will also learn to setup the WiFi in order to access and navigate the Internet.

Computer Troubleshooting Basics  

This two-hour workshop for Windows 7 and 10 users.  Students will learn how to troubleshoot and address the common problems that occur while using a computer.

Microsoft Access 2016 Level 1   Register!

Many people use Excel when Access would be the better option for your records. The highlights of this course include: introducing databases and tables – data types, field properties, sorting, importing data sources; Working with Forms – layout and design view; Querying a Database – Using criteria, sorting and limiting results, calculated fields; Using Reporting to Display Information – How to organize, structure and modify reports. Books and thumb drive are included. Pre-requisites: Basic computer skills.  

Microsoft EXCEL 2016 level 1   Register!

This introductory course will equip new students with an overview of Excel basics, providing a beginner level foundation of the application. Highlights of course are: Introduction to Worksheets - Formatting Sheets & Cells, Numbers, Dates, Basic Calculations; Rearranging Data – Working with Rows, Cells & Columns; Managing Multiple Worksheets, Formulas, and Cell References; Data Visualization with Charts & Images – Using Tools for Formatting & Editing; Organizing Large Amounts of Data – Sorting, Freeze Panes & Window Split.  Books and thumb drive are included. Pre-requisites: Basic computer skills.

Microsoft EXCEL 2016 Level 2   Register!

This intermediate level course will expand students' learning of Excel 2016 with an in-depth look at advanced formatting features and the utilization of functions. Highlights are Advanced Formatting – Themes, Cell Styles, Customizing Page Setup Date, and Time Functions, Conditional Formatting; Advanced Functions for Text and Analysis – IF Criteria, Troubleshooting Formulas; Lookup Function and the Outline Features. Books and thumb drive are included. Pre-requisite: Should have taken MS Excel Basic or have basic equivalent understanding.

Microsoft EXCEL 2016 level 3   Register!

This advanced level course book will further students' proficiency with an in-depth at tables and pivot charts, financial functions, and workbook protection. Highlights include Working with Tables – Calculated Columns, Structured References, Table Features; Financial Functions & What-If Analysis – PMT, PV and NPER Functions; PivotTables and PivotCharts; Workbook Protection and Inspecting Workbooks for Compatibility. Books and thumb drive are included. Pre-requisite: Should have taken MS Excel Intermediate or have an equivalent understanding.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 level 2   Register!

This course is designed for students who have an understanding of PowerPoint and want to take their presentations to the next level. Topics include: Charts – embedding, formatting, and editing, linking to Excel charts; SmartArt – Inserting and Formatting; Using Tables in Presentations – entering data; formatting, aligning and adjusting entries, rows and columns; Collaborating with Others Online – sharing files, merging presentations, using OneDrive and Office Online; Readying a File for Final Delivery – Hyperlinks for slide navigation; font embedding, useful used for find and replace. Books and thumb drive are included.

Students will be engaged with hands on learning as they apply learned concepts to create relevant, mock work examples such as a brochure, resume, table and more. Highlights of course are: Documents 101 – Creating Documents. Formatting & Editing Text; Introducing Tables – Formatting, Stylizing, & Data Sorting; Visual Objects – Shapes, WordArt, SmartArt, Pictures & Text Boxes; Creating Business Reports - Arranging Text in Columns, Tab Stops, Headers & Footers and more. Books and a jump/thumb drive for saving work are included. Pre-requisites: Basic computer skills.

Microsoft Word 2016 level 2   Register!

This intermediate level course will build on the basics to expand students' MS Word skill-set as they learn special text effects, mail merging and the tools essential to long documents.

Students will be engaged with hands-on learning as they apply learned concepts to create relevant, mock work examples such as a newsletter, table of contents and more.

Highlights are Mail Merge – Data Source, Problem Solving, Working with Labels and Envelopes; Creating a Newsletter – Special Effect to Text & Pictures, Column Set Up; and Long Documents – Formatting, Navigating, Creating a Table of Contents and Index, Headers and Footers. Books and thumb drive are included.  Pre-requisite: Should have taken MS Word Basic or have an equivalent understanding.

Microsoft Word 2016 level 3   Register!

This advanced level course will enable students to maximize the features and uses of MS Word as they learn about sharing and securing documents, working with macros and integrating Word with Excel, PowerPoint, and the Web. Students will be engaged with hands-on learning as they apply learned concepts to create relevant, mock work examples.

Highlights of course are: Collaborating in Word – Highlighting, Tracking & Reviewing Changes, Saving and Sending Files; Sharing & Securing Documents – Compatibility, Restricting Editing, Digital Signatures; Personalizing Word – Customizing Setup Options, Automating Tasks with Macros; Integrating Word with Excel, PowerPoint & the Web – Embedding Links to Data & Objects, Creating PDF’s and Web Pages from Word Documents. Books and thumb drive are included. Pre-requisite: Should have taken MS Word Intermediate or have an equivalent understanding.
