Computer Basics 101  Register!

This class will assist students in feeling comfortable with using a computer. Students will be introduced to the basic steps of using a computer from starting, opening programs, establishing settings, and personalizing the desktop. Students will learn how to navigate programs and save documents on various drives. They will also learn to setup the WiFi in order to access and navigate the Internet.

MICROSOFT 2016 applications

Microsoft Access Basic 

Designed for students new to MS Access, this text covers beginning level skills. Topics include creating tables in Datasheet view, previewing and printing data, designing databases, creating database objects, formatting tables, look up fields, field properties, queries and more. Highlights of the course are: Introducing Databases and Tables – Data Types, Field Properties, Sorting, Importing Data sources; Working with Forms – Layout and Design View; Querying a Database – Using Criteria, Sorting and Limiting Results, Calculated fields; and Using reporting to Display Information – How to Organize, Structure and Modify Reports. Textbook and jump/thumb drive to save work are included. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills.

Microsoft EXCEL Basic   Register!

This introductory course will equip new students with an overview of Excel basics, providing a beginner level foundation of the application. Highlights of course are: Introduction to Worksheets - Formatting Sheets & Cells, Numbers, Dates, Basic Calculations; Rearranging Data – Working with Rows, Cells & Columns; Managing Multiple Worksheets, Formulas, and Cell References; Data Visualization with Charts & Images – Using Tools for Formatting & Editing; Organizing Large Amounts of Data – Sorting, Freeze Panes & Window Split. Highlights of course are: Documents 101 – Creating Documents. Formatting & Editing Text; Introducing Tables – Formatting, Stylizing, & Data Sorting; Visual Objects – Shapes, WordArt, SmartArt, Pictures & Text Boxes; Creating Business Reports - Arranging Text in Columns, Tab Stops, Headers & Footers and more. Microsoft Word Intermediate

This intermediate level course will build on the basics to expand students' MS Word skill-set as they learn special text effects, mail merging and the key tools essential to long documents. Students will be engaged with hands on learning as they apply learned concepts to create relevant, mock work examples such as a newsletter, table of contents and more. Highlights of course are: Mail Merge – Data Source, Problem Solving, Working with Labels and Envelopes; Creating a Newsletter – Special Effect to Text & Pictures, Column Set Up; and Long Documents – Formatting, Navigating, Creating a Table of Contents and Index, Headers and Footers. Books and jump/thumb drive to save work are included.  Prerequisite: Word Basic or equivalent Word experience.

This advanced level course will enable students to maximize the features and uses of MS Word as they learn about sharing and securing documents, working with macros and integrating Word with Excel, PowerPoint and the Web. Students will be engaged with hands on learning as they apply learned concepts to create relevant, mock work examples. Highlights of course are: Collaborating in Word – Highlighting, Tracking & Reviewing Changes, Saving and Sending Files; Sharing & Securing Documents – Compatibility, Restricting Editing, Digital Signatures; Personalizing Word – Customizing Setup Options, Automating Tasks with Macros; Integrating Word with Excel, PowerPoint & the Web – Embedding Links to Data & Objects, Creating PDF’s and Web Pages from Word Documents. Textbook and jump/thumb drive to save work are included. Prerequisite: MS Word Intermediate or equivalent experience.
