Education Encore provides active and senior adults with a learning environment that is fun and lively while offering diversity, insight and wisdom so that you can explore new ideas and make your own unique contributions. Education Encore is offered by Corporate College at Gulf Coast State College and provides non-credit enrichment adult education classes on a variety of topics.
Since 1991, Education Encore has been operated on a volunteer basis by the Education Encore Advisory Council. The council supports the planning, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum.

While you are an Education Encore participant, there are some perks that you will enjoy including the use of the following facilities: (Please note that you will need to present your student I.D.)
The campus bookstore has all the supplies you will need for your classes. Browse through the large selection of supplies, textbooks and campus must-haves. The bookstore also offers official Gulf Coast State College apparel and Commodores merchandise.
The College library provides research materials and Internet access. There are more than 80,000 books and 900 journal subscriptions from which to choose.
The Wellness Center
The Wellness Center includes a pool, a hydro-therapy pool and a fully-equipped weight and fitness room. Please check availability for the facilities.
Enjoy watching the Commodores take on the competition in baseball, basketball, softball and volleyball. No matter what your favorite sport, the games are sure to be tons of fun.
Amelia G. Tapper Center For The Arts
See some of Gulf Coast State College's most talented students performing on the Amelia Center Main Stage. The Visual & Performing Arts Division sponsors several theatre and concert events each semester. As an Encore participant, you may attend many of these events free of charge or at a discounted rate.
Each semester the volunteer Encore Advisory Council - Special Events Committee organizes several fun-filled day trips to historical, cultural, environmental or entertainment sites in the area. Announcement of field trip destinations and registration for the bus trip will begin during Initial Registration. Contact Diane Vitale at firstname.lastname@example.org
Visit the Welcome Station during the semester to reserve your spot for other special events. All costs, while on field trips, are your responsibility.
Who can participate?
Education Encore is for adults. You are not required to have Florida residency.
When is it offered?
Education Encore is offered during the fall and spring semesters. Classes in each semester meet once a week for six consecutive weeks at the Panama City campus and eight weeks at the Gulf Franklin campus. The day of the week depends on which campus you choose to attend.
What is the cost?
The fee at the Panama City Campus is $92 for the six-week program, which includes four classes each Friday.
The fee at the Gulf/Franklin Campus is $88 for the eight-week program, which includes three classes each Wednesday. To ensure the viability of the total program, we do not charge on a per-class basis. Therefore, the fee is the same whether you attend one class or more.
Where are the classes held?
Each course description includes the abbreviated classroom location. You will be notified of class location changes during orientation.
Classes offered are based on instructor's availability.
