Unmanned systems continue to evolve, becoming increasingly sophisticated. Use is also expanding and the demand for new systems and operators growing. The potential financial impact totals in the billions of dollars across military, commercial, personal, and technology sectors. Why? These systems are extremely beneficial in places where man cannot reach or is unable to perform in a timely and efficient manner. By using cameras, sensors, and computing capabilities, they can sense and navigate challenging terrain and provide information, so that human operators may understand the environment and take action to achieve a variety of missions. Uses include examining agricultural crops, capturing more innovative shots for movies, getting closer to action for accurate news stories, highlighting real estate properties and mapping areas. Unmanned systems are also making their way onto roadways and in use to deliver packages, inspect bridges and oil platforms, for search and rescue missions, to monitor drug trafficking across borders, to conduct weather and environmental research, in disaster relief, firefighting, and by the military. During the 2018 Winter Olympics, 1218 Shooting Star drones took to the skies to present an inspiring light show, as well as set a Guinness World Records title for the “most unmanned aerial vehicles airborne simultaneously.”

Registration will be through the GCSC website and payment will be made on line by credit card or electronic check. Payment must be made in full at the time of registration.

Camps often fill up quickly and on line registration/payment is the quickest and most efficient method to register for the camp you are interested in attending.

A confirmation email will be sent once registration and payment is completed.

Requests for refunds should be made in writing to lcostin@gulfcoast.edu.

Meals/Lunch

For longer camps that are in session during the lunch period, lunch will be available for an additional charge ($5.00 per day).  These optional lunches must be purchased and paid for when registering for the camp.   Typical lunches will be hamburgers, chicken tenders or grilled cheese sandwiches, with fries and a drink. Students in the longer camps, who do not wish to purchase their lunch, may bring a lunch, with the understanding that the ability to keep the lunch cold is extremely limited and depending on the location of the camp, may not be available at all.
