  • 2020 STEM Camp (Incoming 4th - 7th graders)

    STEM CAMP (Incoming 4th-7th graders)

4 STEM stations within a session:

Station 1: Up, Up, and Away! Take to the skies in this aerial robotics challenge! Students will be taught robotics safety and flight theory as they create flying machines! Students will work together to achieve the challenge goal on Friday. The sky is the limit in this engineering and design challenge!

Station 2: Learn from the Lorax - Help build a better planet by learning about energy, conservation, and pollution in our local ecosystem. Build an alternative powered car, cook your lunch with just the sun, and develop your very own biosphere.  We'll investigate all the ways we effect our Earth and find how small changes can make a big difference!

Station 3: Who Dunnit! Become a molecular biologist using today’s hottest Biotechnology skills to uncover Who Dunnit! Students act as bioforensic technicians to figure out which pieces of evidence from crime scenes contain potentially useful DNA information. We will be using technology such as amylase detection, DNA extraction and electrophoresis to collect evidence to solve the crime.

Station 4: Let's Get Physical about Oceanography! Put on your lab goggles and dive in to explore the marine environment through physical science labs and activities. Students will investigate many aspects of Physical Oceanography and includes a trip to the bay to study local creatures.
