    STEM CAMP (Incoming 4th-6th graders)

4 STEM stations within a session:

Station 1: 3…2…1…LIFT OFF! We'll be shooting for the stars as we explore the wonderful worlds of space! We will build Galileo's telescopes and begin looking at the Moon's craters, conduct a moon geology lab with created Regolith, and build lunar rovers to roam over the surface. Then we'll look further into space as we explore how Hubble's images are created, create chromatography galaxies and explore the James Webb telescope with virtual reality.

Station 2: Marine Biology 101 - Get ready to dive in and discover the plants, animals, and invertebrates that live in the world's oceans! We will build a jellyfish, observe tiny plankton through a microscope, dissect a shark, and so much more! Let’s explore what it REALLY means to be a marine biologist.

Station 3: Get Energized! Are you ready to be energized?  From the magic of magnetism to the power of energy, we will discover the world of engineering!  We will design and build bristlebots, flashlights, launchers, and other gadgets as we explore electric circuits, magnetism, and solar panels.  The energy in the camp will be contagious as we discover how energy is in our everyday lives of work and play.

Station 4: Rockin’ Robotics! Calling all future astronauts and engineers! We have an urgent mission to Mars and need your help! With our remotely operated vehicles, you will need to design, deploy, implement, and map the scene of the disaster! Through our programming, creativity, and problem-solving skills we will be ready for the next Martian super storm!

STEM CAMP (UVS and Cybersecurity) (Incoming 7th-10th graders)

Students need the opportunity to apply their STEM education to real-world problems and explore STEM in ways that relate to their own lives and communities. Students will work in teams to design, build, and program an aerial unmanned vehicle system(UVS). This will provide students with the opportunity to develop skills in design, CAD, 3D printing, electronics, mathematics, problem-solving, programming, data collection, and UVS. The students will not only learn about the autonomous system but will be provided the opportunity to practice using it in real-world situations. The teams will compete in a challenge on the final day of camp to transform their theoretical knowledge into practical solutions using the aerial UVS they built over the course of the camp. Throughout the course of the camp, students will build self-reliance, intelligent risk-taking, technical communication skills, and jump-start their innovative thinking.
