Mr. Glen McDonald

Glen McDonald, Gulf Coast Community College Class of 1986, became president of Gulf Coast State College on August 1, 2023.

Prior to becoming president, McDonald served as the GCSC Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Economic Development for six years, overseeing complex projects and initiating internal strategies to improve and grow the College.  Preceding his time at Gulf Coast, he held a 25-year career with nationally-recognized Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA).  He advanced from scientist to Senior VP and supervised contract and revenue management, organizational structure, and growth.

McDonald is an advocate for community betterment and volunteers his time and talents with the Bay Defense Alliance (Vice President), the Bay Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, the Economic Development Alliance, Florida State University Panama City's Dean's Council, the Airport Authority Board (Past Chairman), and Alignment Bay County.

He holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and a master's degree in business administration from Florida  State University.
