Law Enforcement/Correctional Officer EOT Proficiency Course

This course is designed for law enforcement or correctional officers in another state, a federal agency or the military, or a former Florida officer with a four year or more break in service, but less than eight years.

Prior approval is required for any Equivalency of Training (EOT) course.

 To obtain certification as an officer in Florida without first attending a full basic recruit academy in Florida, you must:

  1. Successfully complete an EOT Evaluation, and

  2. Successfully demonstrate proficiency in the high-liability skills of defensive tactics, firearms, first aid, and vehicle operations (LE only),

  3. Take and pass the State Officer Certification Exam.

What to Bring to Class

  • Required to participate in class: A copy of your CJSTC form 76
  • Your firearm and duty gear, as long as they are in good working order
    • Equipment will be inspected and approved by a firearms instructor before it can be used during the class.
  • Long sleeve shirts – bring a few light weight long sleeve shirts
  • Long pants
  • Protective Gloves
  • Hat / Ball cap – For protection from flying Brass on the firearms range from semi auto
  • Comfortable training clothing and footwear
  • Water/recovery hydration drinks – for outdoor training
  • Any snacks that you require

What to Wear to Class

During the class you may wear jeans or other casual attire. In addition, it is recommended that you bring you bring the following items:

  • No shirts with offensive slogans or advertising
  • Athletic clothing for defensive tactics
  • A cap for firearms training
  • Wet weather gear, since classes will be held rain or shine

 EOT Capstone Online class Law Enforcement/Correctional Officer

 

This online class provides practice exams for instate and out-of-state Law Enforcement or Correctional officers who want further study, before taking  the Florida Sate Board exam. Pre-requisite to this course is the completion and passing of the Law Enforcement or Corrections Proficiency class listed above.

  • Open Enrollment - students can register anytime within the range of dates offered.
  • Online access to the class is available 24/7 until the class end date.
  • The course is compatible with computers, tablets, smart phones and iPhones.
  • Take the sample tests as many times as needed.

HR-218 / Retired Police Officer Training

This is a Two-hour firearms course for Retired Law Enforcement Officer.

Students will learn about current laws pertaining to retire police officer firearms carry, best management practices for safe and responsible gun handling and ownership.

The student is also required to pass a 40-round FDLE Qualification Course of fire before being issued an annual permit. Basic Requalification (40 round course of Fire).

Current information provided on House Bill 218 and with qualification card issued.

Shooter must provide a valid identification card with current address and retirement credentials from your agency.

Shooter must provide the weapon and ammunition you intend to qualify with, Minimum 50 rounds of Ammunition per weapon per qualification,

MAXIMUM of (2) attempts to qualify, limited to two weapons (semi-auto, revolver), Eye, Ear Protection and holster is required, Gun Cleaning equipment optional with an area for cleaning the weapon provided.
