After you complete the Emergency Medical Services A.S program you will have the necessary knowledge, technical skill, and professional attitude and behavior to implement safe, effective, and appropriate care as an entry level Emergency Medical Technician‐Basic (EMT-B) or Paramedic.

Who is eligible for the Emergency Medical Services, A.S. program?

If you are a high school graduate, you can apply to this program.

If you have earned credits from a regionally accredited college or university, you may have a head start at Gulf Coast State College.

Refresher Courses

Both Refresher courses are offered by Distance Education as well as in the classroom.

Additional graduation requirements:  Students must have fulfilled the requirement for the chosen major, earned a minimum of 25 percent of the total hours required for the degree in residence at Gulf Coast State College, and be registered as a student at Gulf Coast State College during the semester of graduation.
