Program overview:
This program is designed to help you qualify to obtain a Licensed Practical Nurse's license in the State of Florida. Upon completion of the program, which consists of 1,350 hours of study, you will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses). At Gulf Coast State College, this program is available only at the Gulf/Franklin Campus in Port St. Joe, Florida.
In this program, the practical nurse student learns to give patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. The student will acquire skills and knowledge necessary to give safe and effective care to patients in a variety of settings.
The Practical Nursing program is a selective admission, limited enrollment program. Admission to Gulf Coast State College does not imply acceptance into the Practical Nursing Program.
